Semaphore Market Performance

Party13 (2)

Firstly my best wishes to you all for 2013, and thank you to those who subscribed, blogged, read and interacted with us on the website in 2012. Special thanks to Ian ( one of my students and a good friend ) who proposed the idea of a website, then set it up and helped in every aspect of it, including today’s slide show).

Secondly, if you want to get your new year off to a relaxed start then One Dozen Strings ( Andrew and I ) are playing this Sunday at the Semaphore Anglican Church Market.
You won’t have to sell your soul to hear some Easy Listening Blues, Jazz, Spanish, Pop, Movie themes and Classic Guitar pieces so drop in if you can. We would love to see you there.

Plus there will be plenty of market goodies to purchase, or pop around the corner to the Semaphore Road shops and then down the beach for a swim!

Sunday January 6th
Semaphore Anglican Church Market …..10.00am-3.00pm
200 Military Road Semaphore-very close to Semaphore Road
One Dozen Strings are playing from 11am-1pm

PS….here are a few photos of a Christmas party Andrew and I played at recently for Doctors, Surgeons and Specialists.

All classical students – listen up !!

If you are a student of the classical guitar then you need to check out this video and try very hard to get along to the Milos concert in Adelaide.
He started at the age of  eight and went on to be awarded the Prince’s Prize given by HRH Prince Charles and the Silver Medal of London’s venerable Worshipful Company of Musicians, the first guitarist ever to win these prestigious awards by the age of 24. What an amazing achievment for a young guy with a passion for the guitar.

I think that this will be one concert to get along to if you can. Milos plays many songs from his second album “Latino” so the concert should have a certain latin feel.

Adult Learners and grooving grannys

I often get asked  “Am I too old to learn how to play the guitar?”
Of course the answer is always NO.

Anyone can learn to play the guitar and have fun, not only in the playing but also in the whole new world of learning guitar.

In fact, I now have so many senior learners taking lessons and having fun that I have put up a special page on the website to let people know what you can achieve. See our new page Adult Learners.

What about some of you “senior players” doing your own composite video to rival this one. Lets show everyone what we can do.
