Where are they now ?

I really get a kick from keeping track of my guitar students as they progress. Students take up the Guitar for many different reasons; musical interest, part of their school studies or just for fun and here’s an email I received from past student Luke who is making the Guitar his career.

HI Leigh….Just to keep you updated about the band – You might be interested to hear we actually went to the USA to record our first full length album (14 tracks) with Sylvia Massy (famous for her work with Tool, System of a Down, Johnny Cash, Prince, RHCP, to name a few!) end of last year, which got released in January this year! As you can imagine it’s been crazy since, extremely busy juggling work and doing tours for the album etc. We’re also about to do our first international tour playing some shows through Europe in August!

It’s all very exciting and I’m so glad to be able to do all of this – I wanted to say thanks again for your tuition and inspiration through my school years, you helped me a lot to get me where I am today so I’m very grateful!

Is that the old school uniform ??

Why not check out their latest album at filthylucre.bandcamp.com  or Facebook and perhaps pick up their latest album. You can listen to one of the album tracks on the player below.

Cheers
Leigh

  1. Dear Leigh,

Thank you so much for your latest email of what’s happing in our guitar-world & of your rendition of the “Spanish Study,” and, of your quick-learning tips & short cuts of playing the base/lowest note 1st., et cetera – musical clues which are most appreciated by learners like me.

Again, many thanks for handing down to us your love of the guitar & its musical horizons.

This love of the instrument is “caught” more than “learned” in my opinion – although, I do realize the cliché` & the truism that:

    Practice makes perfect !

    Keep inspiring us, Maestro !

“If music be the food of love, play on, gives me excess of it …..” (Willie Shakes)

    Stay Musical & Happy & Safe & $ucce$$ful !

    the ancient one, Hugh.

    • Hi Hugh,
Thanks for your emails throughout this year.
I really enjoy reading them as do a number of my students.
      Seasons greetings to you Hugh.
      Cheers.
      Leigh
